1920s
Nemef starts production of locks for furniture, before expanding and beginning production of door locks, the foundation of its success.

1945
Following the destruction of World War II, a building boom helps Nemef secure its place as a premier supplier of door locks to the Dutch construction sector.

1969
Nemef becomes a part of the American ‘Emhart Company’, which specializes in hardware products

1989
‘Emhart Company’ is acquired by ‘Black & Decker’

1999
A state-of-the-art distribution facility opens in North Apeldoorn, helping to ensure quick and efficient product delivery

2004
ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions acquires Nemef with a view to building on its impressive record in product innovation and customer satisfaction.
